has anyone here ever actually gotten iq tested like, by a researcher or whoever it is you go to to get iq tested

i did in like elementary school or middle school when i got sent to places to figure out what was Wrong™ with me and i got a number that said i'm smart and used it as an excuse to coast for the next 20 years

if i had a quarter for every time i thought about all of the wasted potential i'd have about as much money as if i had lived up to said potential (also i think iq tests are extremely flawed and should be taken with a pinch of salt)

oh yeah i think they’re mostly bullshit which is why i’m glad i never did one bc i think even knowing the number was bullshit the concept is so ingrained it’d still bother me
