i always fuck up the word apogee in the colloquial sense of "apex" bc i first learned it in contrast with perigee as furthest from the earth so it gives me a sense of being very distant, small, lost, the exact opposite of the triumph of being the apex of a thing
just read the phrase "summer's apogee" which to me instinctively became long slow days in august the heat drags on nobody moves just waiting for it to end and then i realized i was reading abt ppl partying full of life & sun & dopamine in early july
