im watching music videos from 2003 and life was so much simpler when you didn't have to have a "concept" for these all you had to do was put on a pair of ultra low cut denim shorts and a bizarrely sequined plastic top and shake your ass at the camera for 3 minutes and 20 seconds
every upbeat song just gyrate in tiny bikini every lowtempo ballad just 49 closeup cuts of two people in a living room cuddling on the couch. watched twilight last week and 80% of the movie is lustful gazes set to 2000s alt rock with the camera at a 30 degree angle and i loved it
i think nostalgia and the fact that those aesthetics lacked the uber optimization found in the last 7-8 years. the defects make it more human i think.
