I think it's a combination of 3 habits of mine: using a clipboard manager, not trusting web form submission (especially stuff like Blackboard and Trac), and typing out rude tweets before deciding against sending them but still thinking maybe I want to send it to the group chat.
oh yeah i mean i'm putting shit on clipboard constantly i've just never used cut to do it, only copy

I literally just did it so I thought about why just for you: I was writing a tweet and wanted to refer back to something in the view underneath the modal and web browser doesn't save drafts so I cmd-A-cmd-X-esc-ed the whole thing without even thinking
