I don't agree with this take. I actually wish more PMs had CS degrees. Some of the best PMs I've worked with have CS degrees, bootcamp exp, or were formerly SWEs themselves. It's a lot easier to discuss work with someone who has a baseline understanding of CS in my experience.

pms should have technical understanding but imo the vast majority of them don't need or end up using a full cs degree, and cs major pms miss out on learning more product/business sense. just that rn there are very few recognized paths to technical roles without a cs degree
