for all of tech's surface level talk about being optimistic and constructive and future oriented the tech x education space is incredibly negative & so absolutely full of ppl's personal grievances from when they were like 12

I personally had a pretty negative experience throughout my k-12 and college education. This is one reason why I’ve always felt a desire to become a teacher/professor so that I could try and create positive experiences for students who might have had a similar experience to mine.

yeah i mean often negative experiences motivate good change but it’s striking to me how many ppl can’t name a single positive thing or one good teacher they had like without even one good data point how do you know what to aim for

I mean I was homeschooled and that's part of what's motivating me to make children's book to teach things I couldn't learn at home. I need to improve on this though.
