i love when someone at work goes "this is gonna be really tedious & we won't really have anything new to show for it but we should really do this" this isn't a joke post it is actually so relieving to hear

i think it's rly hard if it's not encouraged at a company level — eg we have a companywide "shipped work" list where ppl post new features but also "we migrated infra versions" or "unship: we deprecated this old stuff" or even "we tried this & decided against" (s/o

it's hard to get it perfect and it's team dependent but company culture is big, at one internship at a "new feature"ish co i distinctly remember a meeting where someone asked are we gonna deal with all these backlogged tickets/bugs and everyone was like lol nope no reward for it
