I think there’s zero issue with doing your best at your work and doing your best for your family, and those being different realms. Now, if they same person advocates against public actions that give more ppl the same choice, that’s an issue.
idk i think it's harder than that right like lots of systems depend on buyin & positive momentum, enrollment & performance affect school funding etc and if all the parents who can afford it pull their kids out then those left get extra screwed
That’s the narrative that’s usually sold. AFAIK, funding doesn’t impact outcomes nearly as much as ppl put forward. The sad truth is the “best” schools become the best by selection bias—the pick the advanced the kids.
My wife was a kindergarten teacher. She has plenty of stories of huge variations in progress even at that level. It all comes down to parents—of course no one wants to hear that. The education system is protecting itself, I get that. It’s poor, talented kids that lose most.
