      a question that always haunts me is like. i read this thing once abt a public school principal who worked there for like decades but ended up sending his kid to private school and got huge backlash for it and idr details but depending on situation it's not a clear answer for me

      say you work at a public school with genuinely good intentions and you've been trying for years to do the best you can but your budget is never enough regional management is a mess the school is still failing but you have enough money to send your kid somewhere else. do you do it

      if you take a certain cynical view of america i suppose it's a very classically american problem in that it takes for granted a shitty system and puts the burden on the individual to make a choice

          Back in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s my parents were loyal to the ideals of the New Deal, so they were committed to public schools. My dad got elected to the school board and fought mostly for 2 issues, better science ed, and better sex ed. They had money but sent all kids to public

          I don't plan to have kids, but I love the idealism of my parents, it's something I always admired about them, so if I did have a kid, I would follow my parents example.
