extremely weird reading the nation’s biggest & most successful & most wide reaching paper asking “why don’t we pay attention to the west coast” without any accounting of idk its own reporting allocation & editorial choices but ok lol

i used to blame the nyt for ignoring the west coast but i eventually understood its very important that all new yorkers continue to pretend california doesn’t exist because otherwise there would be a mass migration like the dust bowl
