for the most part we are on the same side though and i recognize that if american cities had been more accessible to more people biking in the first place cyclist culture would be less insufferable & in my face all the time

i think abt my v lovely years on my extremely bike-oriented college campus or my mom’s fond memories of 1970s beijing and i think we really fucked up handing cultural control of a great form of transport over to a bunch of spandexed guys in hyperaerodynamic helmets

I'm anti stretchy pants guys on $4K lightweight bikes zipping down the pedestrian trail for sure.

Also there may be a distinction between "cyclists" (wannabe athlete, high-performance bla bla) and "people who ride bikes" (transportation, enjoyment, cross-country trips etc)
