i think a lot of this is true! re lack of variety idk a lot of ppl in other highly specialized fields don’t seem to have this problem sorta leaning toward what someone else said which is a focus on extraction instead of learning or joy or anything else
extraction for status, totally and people who have an extractive relationship with the world in general tend to bum me out
