here are a few other hypotheses 1. many read the same stuff, don’t branch out 2. the markers for “credibility” in what they read also lack variety 3. there’s a neediness to memorize/show/know vs share/wonder that creeps (probably unintentionally) into the vibes

i think a lot of this is true! re lack of variety idk a lot of ppl in other highly specialized fields don’t seem to have this problem sorta leaning toward what someone else said which is a focus on extraction instead of learning or joy or anything else

I think a lot of it is that people are focused on: looking smart, feeling smart, and letting others know how smart you are. Instead of just being curious and growing as a person. Being curious and worshipping being smart are different.
