trying to figure out what it is that bothers me abt a lot tech adjacent Intellectual People™ who on paper i should really actually like and i think part of it is there’s this whole intellectual exploration thing going on but without any sense of wonder

I think everyone in tech is trying too hard to impress each other. Rewards of "moving up" are so great, that's almost always part of every interaction. Fav tech intellects: No agendas. Actual humility. Genuinity. Selflessness. Kindness just to be kind.
