i hate that i enjoy the feeling of being physically fit but i don’t like the work required to maintain that feeling

being in good shape kicks so much ass though maybe its trite but i started rock climbing a few years ago and having a focused athletic ability/activity made it so much more fun than just lifting or cardio or whatever

I was the same way until I started CrossFit. Being told exactly what to do and when to do it is perfect for me. The only thing I need to do is go to the gym at the same time every morning. Highly recommended.

Have you tried rucking and all the workouts you can do with a rucksack? Have found that to be more sustainable while on a nice green field than a crappy gym.
