oh man. welcome to the insanity of pricing in the American healthcare system. You can get charged 10,000 times more for the same procedure based on whether you went to hospital A or B. It’s just utterly deranged

yeah i used to think ok drugs etc are too expensive but there's a rationale behind it and then i spent the last couple months dealing w ER bills & rxs & imaging between several diff hospitals/pharmacies/etc and finally realized none of these numbers are real lmao

I work in a pharmacy and while that may have been technically true it's also kind of BS because the $400 calculated is based off the wholesale price the pharmacy/company "buys" it at but the insurance companies negotiate and do not actually pay that much, they pay less.
