hummingbird in my yard has been hovering around just in the open air at least 8 ft above any flowers or plants for the last few minutes not sure what's going on here

were those flowers or plants recently cut down by approximately 8 ft? hummingbirds can apparently remember exact physical locations but not be able to tell that the thing they're looking for is gone
nope this lil bird was just hanging out up by the roof nothing’s ever been there lol
