yeah we all saw china go into total lockdown and they managed to conclude hm this might be bad like congrats on getting that one right! doesn’t make any of them experts on epidemiology or qualified to post anything other than speculative horseshit

I mean I obviously agree with that, the Medium article was ridiculous, so are the people hyping up treatments before solid double blind studies show they work On the other hand I’ve been super impressed that Balaji’s analyses and tweets have generally been very high quality

yeah this tweet wasn’t about balaji i haven’t been following his corona stuff. although he’s an interesting case bc even though some of his corona stuff now is probably good he’s posted so many ridiculous takes on other things he has zero credibility to me sorry
