tech companies put their ppl in a really weird place when they actively frame perks & reimbursements as a "treat the company's money like your own" thing like on one hand you don't wanna be a spoiled ass on the other hand, you don't owe it to your employer to make sacrifices

oh def i think the thing i'm talking abt gets fuzzier when it comes to stuff like wfh setups where the company is obviously directly deriving value like, is it dumb to bitch about only getting reimbursed $200 for a $250 monitor? yes and no

i've seen it done like it's fucking dumb just put the $10 down but when the company explicitly frames it like "we focus on staying lean therefore we don't expense tips" then it does put you in this weird opposition and ppl react to that i think
