it's already a major risk consideration for college students who live in a literal petri dish of disease but actually have nowhere to go but if ur making money and have an apartment and can cook like. why

a lot of them are afraid domestic travel restrictions are imminent which is like, reasonable i guess like if ur parent Does get sick u wanna be there for them but idk to me the risks for someone coming from sf (!!) don't really justify it

My friends and I are having so much trouble convincing our 60+ parents to #StayTheFHome that I considered the idea myself. “No, I will get the damn groceries. Stay on the couch.”

My folks were asking me to come visit this weekend, saying “no one’s sick here!” I had been trying not to make them worry, but I had to let them know I’ve been self-isolating due to unconfirmed exposure 😥 I hope all our folks stay as safe as they can.

apartments in densely populated cities are not bio-hazard containment units, and viruses are more likely to spread via essential activities in cities. Not a bad idea to evacuate by car to suburban and rural areas to self-isolate if possible.

And that's how you bring the infection to suburban and rural areas. Terrible idea if you are trying to contain a pandemic

Many college students don't have a choice at this time ! The past ten days has seen an enormous number of college students traveling back to their parents' homes.

not the same as fully-employed 20somethings from dense cities. i stocked my parents up as best i could a week and a half ago. i won't go back unless they get sick and need care.
