experiencing the same dissonance i get w a lot of netflix shows where it’s extremely high production value but also super cheesy hacking scenes and clunky dialogue

I feel it's a limitation of anything code related in film. It has to be somewhat hacky. I think they actually do a pretty good job

yeah it’s definitely not like, Bad but to me they’re in the weird inbetween of they clearly researched quantum computing and made code look realistic on the screen but at the same time what was this 80s looking spy messaging app that they hacked in 30 seconds
