they give everyone a work phone to test beta versions of the apps but since employee status is account-level every day i'd get a popup on instagram saying "download the beta version!" on my *personal phone* and the only way to get rid of it was to say "i don't work here anymore"

never forget that until like 2017 when they rolled out workplace all fb internal business was conducted on top of regular fucking facebook so every employee would have all their work updates, manager posts, etc mixed into the same news feed as all their literal actual friends

They can just be like the rest of the under-50 population and stop using FB

"delete fb" is a dumb response to this i don't use fb core anymore but 90% of my friends are on instagram or messenger or whatsapp and the employee account link extends to at least the first two

Why would Facebook do that?

It’s a large enough population to do AB testing on, and it worked. I don’t miss having to update all of my FB apps though like three times a day. I used to report 1-3 bugs a day
