everyone’s making runs on costco but has anyone checked on the chinese supermarket, genuinely curious bc if i had to load up on several weeks of food the frozen options at ranch 99 are better than literally anything costco has to offer

local marina foods had rice when costco didn’t! it’s funny too bc everyone doing costco runs in san jose is chinese.. also like ranch 99 has interminable supplies of every food item ever i think people’s strategies here have been off

based on that "please visit chinatown" plea from nancy pelosi, maybe non-asian people are... too racist to go to the asian grocery store? but then you have to fight some aunties and i would not bet on winning that fight

unfortunately, based on the primarily asian-only clientele of the places i go to that now just have a few tables of white people and are otherwise empty, i think its fear of going out at all vs racism per se. it's heartbreaking—nyc chinatown, flushing, rockville: all empty.
