on a different note i sure hope all these tech companies asking engineers to wfh have comprehensive sick leave policies for the contract food service workers that keep them running every day!

Outside of finance, I program robots. Travel for weeks/ months is often standard. One of the 45 y/o I worked with had been in the business 25 years. He literally didn't know how to make anything other than PBJ sandwiches, he subsists entirely on take out/delivery.

Absurd, but I kinda see it. We have so much other specialization. I don't know how to build a car, generate electricity, create jeans. Why is food the one thing people Must do for themselves?
