nothing like trying to do one (1) code thing on ur personal computer after a year of disuse and discovering that ur python installations & environments are irreparably broken

bash aliasing "python" to a very specific version of python 3 installed inside a py2 venv inside a conda env and using that to run everything

The solution is to ignore that nonsense and just install the latest stable version of everything. Some dependency only works with obsolete versions? To the trash with it.
