I’ve been internalizing a lot of the anxiety and stress from the recent Verge reporting on Lambda School, which I am currently enrolled in full time. It’s been doubled down by seeing tech role models— @dhh, @abramov, @ossia, even @isosteph all dog pile on with their shots.

my (and a lot of others’) baseline was fully “lambda is good” until bad stories started emerging, and what put me off was the attitude lambda’s leadership took in response to these stories. it reflects a distinct arrogance that i’ve always disliked and looks esp bad in education
-
one of the things i believe most strongly is educators are in a position of immense responsibility, and it’s up to them to own that when students are dissatisfied with outcomes. lambda leadership hasn’t shown that to external viewers, which also reflects on their business sense

Re: role model, if being a pro-level twitter shitposter on stripe’s payroll is not universally regarded as “Living The Dream” in all caps, then I don’t want to be in this career field anymore

I think you’ve been missing the point of 70% of
@isosteph’s tweets if this is your dream. - 1 more reply
