i think it was inspired by world marathon challenge. I also know some people who are trying to do a marathon in every state. I feel like these sorts of things just come from people in the underlying communities who want to have some goal that's obviously achievable but still hard

yeah i get the impulse to package it up into a fun numeric challenge at the end of the day it looks cooler to say you did 7 on 7 than to just say you ran 7 marathons. i guess it’s the “world record” language that i’m less into
