default-public general-purpose social channels are so chaotic they smash & flatten all normal grouping behavior by sense of humor or personality or anything and eventually they all collapse to the lowest common denominator and die. beautiful to watch
the best is when like 3 uniquely powerful ppl with the ability to instakill a channel all join at the same time and immediately the whole thing dies but those 3 ppl don't realize and blithely continue and u end up with zombie channels everywhere shells of their former selves

tbh i think i had a hand in killing new grads team i apologize for that one
uhh well first some guy started posting inflammatory political shit and that put the channel at risk of death and then another guy decided to start a diversity debate and i made the mistake of engaging there and then it went on for too long and i think that was the final blow
good riddance tbh new grads shouldn't be allowed to convene in such numbers anywhere
