in recent years the language of disability has expanded to acknowledge a larger more subtle spectrum of ability and in general this is good but tbh i rly struggle w the way ppl online jump in to say “you made assumptions abt my ability” while....making assumptions abt my ability

i think its less about acknowledging disabilities and making assumptions, more that the tweets are unintentionally remind us of horrible experiences we had in our lives where we were subjected to the same rhetoric

like the one i replied to last, its obvious you didnt mean anything harmful by it, but takes like that and "why can't some people trust themselves to intrinsically motivate and complete goals" can seem blatantly naive to anyone who has known someone with adhd before
