thinking everything from dopamine fasting to evopsych to even the popularity of workout classes — for which the argument i hear most isn’t “i do group workouts bc they’re fun”, it’s “i need someone yelling at me to work out and if i pay a membership that’ll force me to go more”

incentives are useful for systems i think but individuals are supposed to have coherency? slippery slope from using incentives as support tools to letting them take over whatever agency was there before

I get that’s not your intent, but just FYI, this is a line used to shame people with ADHD and it sucks to hear it. There are a lot of things I really care about that are hard to do because my brain has issues

yeah i thought about this and idk if this is selfish or insensitive of me but tbh it also feels shitty to have ppl coming in and decontextualizing 1 tweet out of 4 where i’m clearly trying to talk about a different generalized pattern

like no i understand that yes a lot of ppl truly are working with shitty hard limits and it sucks! but a lot of people simply aren’t and the current framework for the language of disability just doesn’t give space for anyone to talk about that

i think u see this a lot with critiques of like gig economy stuff where objectively most ppl calling instacarts and 1 mile ubers don’t need them. and rn it’s impossible to ask them to actually use their ability without someone saying ur making assumptions
