The python default zipfile module has a couple lines of code that make unzipping fail when headers mismatch the actual file names and the python dev message board has 6+ year old message saying you should comment them out / change to a warning and it makes me mad

Ah yes. Yesterday I found a bit of Python that was supposed to convert a string containing true or false into a Boolean but it was actually just checking for a non-empty string. Since nobody had tried passing false yet, it worked.

Totally! Python is one of the few languages that should have close to 100% unit test coverage. Doesn’t solve this problem completely but mitigates it’s effect!
