sf lacks good options for getting across the city further than a neighborhood ish but if it’s under 2 miles you can walk you can bike you can take the muni/bart basically anywhere and at this point traffic is bad enough that it’s literally the same or faster than rideshare

yeah i thought of that too right after posting this there are clear exceptions like safety and physical ability but honestly the number of uber pools i’ve been in where a perfectly healthy dude got in, sat in traffic, and got out 5 blocks later is just embarrassing
