i'm absolutely one of those ppl who relies on ios autocorrect bc i lack basic fine motor skills and ever since i updated to ios13 my typing speed is down by like 30% bc i keep having to fix bad corrections

actually it's hilarious that this is happening at the same time schools no longer teach touch typing. imagining some kid getting online for the first time only knowing to fingerpeck and learning to spell via the shitty ass algorithm it's a perfect image this is what we deserve

at some point if widely used enough an auto correct would surely start to impact language i suspect for many common accidental changes auto-correct makes people just roll with it cuz its mostly understandable and they're in a rush anyway

should be researched if it hasn't been already, idk how one would do it tho. perhaps analyzing text from different auto correct algorithms and seeing if anything carries over somehow into language use outside of contexts mediated by the algorithms
