Honestly, it just sucks as a father who's over here trying to be an equal partner to get lumped in with shitty average people who share my genitalia. I woulda carried that baby myself if it was biologically possible.

I feel this, but this response is structurally the same as "not all men". It's important to just hear what is being said, accept that there is a real social problem (that even those of us who are trying are probably not 100% successful), and to not recenter on our feelings.

I absolutely acknowledge that women pay a higher cost in having children, and that's a serious problem that needs to be fixed. When my wife was pregnant, I was really just frustrated that I *couldn't* do more to help. That's all I'm really trying to convey.
