I did some numbers on historical figures and 40 year olds have been 15x more successful at launching startups than 20 year olds lol. It's callous, but not incorrect. Almost all founders would be reluctant to start a company with someone who was planning to have kids soon. Children are a full time job and they're far more important than some silly business.

Also Paul Graham tried to run YC after having kids, but he couldn't. He stepped down after a couple years. So it seems like he still believes what he said. You can't have two huge priorities at the same time. Something has to give. Better the business fails than the family.
