does anyone know of a single company or organization with a documentation/internal knowledge organization system that isn't a dumpster fire

I’ve heard rumors that some companies hire corporate librarians to organize and index knowledge. It actually sounds like a cool role.

we recently moved all of our collaborative product planning and documentation for a very large company project into Notion and it’s been great so far

i liked notion a lot when i first tried it but i've been using it for sporadic access long term notes and every time it has to fetch from server and it takes like 3 seconds to load and offline access is still bad

Really interesting problem, wasted years of my life on it. I think there’s room for a startup (there are many trying) but it’s not hitting a major value center directly so it’s tricky

Both BCG and Mckinsey had great systems when I worked there. Worked at a couple other firms with dumpster fires.

It might be impossible. Doesn’t it always come back to the individual making sure the documentation is thorough and clear? and then you get tired and forget with good intentions of fixing and then it never happens...seems like the same issue with project decisioning
