kinda weird how ppl are super enthusiastic abt tiktok and specifically the accuracy of the tiktok recommendation algorithm when we just spent a year tearing our hair out abt the youtube and fb algorithms

any decently good recommender (ie shows u things that are like the things u like) + minimally filtered user generated content + architecture designed for infinite consumption is gonna turn out to be a bad time
