What’s the point of changing for a new number when it can be automatically linked to your old number?

yeah there needs to be a manual verification step on the part of the cardholder but i just want to receive a notification from my bank like “should we update payment for this merchant y/n” and not have to track down everything myself idk

The one upside is subscriptions you forgot about getting cancelled when you forget to update the payment info on them.

Not sure about other providers, but Cap One provides virtual numbers which can avoid this.
