computers give us effectively infinite memory and instant & effortless distribution of media with infinite copiability. the laws we have today weren’t designed w any of this in mind and if ur gonna use bad analogy to dodge thinking about this problem u shouldn’t be in tech
i am by instinct pro privacy & individual freedoms and i obviously have no solution to this tradeoff my only take is that you can’t have both infinite right to do whatever u want and infinite power to amplify it at the same time
Is it possible for computers to look at my files with a special filter that lets them find bad stuff but without knowing anything about my files except for whether or not there is bad stuff in it? That would be easy to get behind
lots of economics is based on the idea of property where only one person can use property at a time our economics are now structured around passing information - which doesn't have this mutex property
