Formative as in “this has signficantly added to or altered my development”. Lots of meaningful things don’t necessarily achieve this.

Eh? How can it be meaningful if it is not formative? Sure it can be meaningful and reinforcing rather than meaningful and transforming. But does meaningful and not formative exist? And/or formative and not meaningful? Help I’m lost in paradoxes here??
