i get when old people are confused by new social models that the internet enabled but it makes me very sad when dudes who grew up online don't get that public social media is different from in-person interaction and that replying to someone's tweets doesn't make them your friend

i have mixed feeling about replies bc they are often a good check on people with both a lot of influence and a lot of opinions and sometimes ppl come up with some funny riffs but i would love to be able to turn them off on tweets that are just status updates from my brain
