investing way too much time in any campus news publication in college is like the fastest way i know of to full on brain worms

It’s not nearly enough to merit the smugness but I will say that they are the only people capable of doing good 5,000-10,000 word deep dives on stuff. They’ve only done about 4 of them but they’re all worthwhile
ah i thought they were......poorly written lol but it’s true nobody else has done any better

Yea we'd sometimes have ideas for similarly ambitious stuff at review meetings but they never got written. Turns out it's way easier to churn out smug "contrarian" 800 word op eds than it is to produce 5000 word longform pieces, whatever the quality of writing. who knew?
