      as someone who maxed out their library card every week as a kid and then spent a lot of time in adolescence pirating pdfs, the concept of paying $10 for a book on kindle still feels really strange

      like i do it bc it is convenient and now i have disposable income to like, not cheat authors out of sales figures etc but i don’t get why this package of bits that i don’t really own costs the same as a paperback

      a friend of mine orders the paperback to support the author and then cribs the epub from libgen, converts to mobi with calibre, and reads on kindle 🤓
