as someone who maxed out their library card every week as a kid and then spent a lot of time in adolescence pirating pdfs, the concept of paying $10 for a book on kindle still feels really strange

ngl i’ve done this..... the problem is i like to own hard copies of books i like but i also like having a digital one to search/highlight

yeah it’s like....to me a spotify style subscription makes more sense bc then at least i’m mostly paying for what i’m actually getting, which is platform convenience, but the public library already exists lmao anyways kindle pricing just shouldn’t scale linearly w books
