french food is mostly overrated at the non fine dining level but the buckwheat galette/sweet crepe/cider combo is a culinary masterwork

friend has a theory that french food’s reputation stems almost entirely from its cultural prestige among the british, who obviously didn’t have any better food of their own and then hyped up french food across the entire empire
unclear if actually true but french food is so bland compared to even any southern european cuisine!!
