some points i liked: - architecture affects regulability, which affects architecture - privacy doesn't happen w/o property interest in personal data - self-authentication as a core differentiator of IRL vs online - architectural nature of code makes decisions nontransparent

anyways i think this piece has been v influential in the 20 years since publication and i found it generally compelling esp as someone who grew up taking lots of internet things for granted so if anyone has read good criticism of it i would rly love to read some!!
