takeaways from day 1 of this AI law class: 1. sooo good to look at AI issues in a focused, informed law/policy way—addressing the very specific impacts of AI on existing legal/economic frameworks 2. we rly need to agree on a definition of “algorithm” or we’re all gonna go nuts

discussing google pagerank vs ML i called PR “just an algorithm” and the (technical) prof was like “yes but ML is also an algorithm” which totally misses how ML involves 2 “algorithms”: learning algorithm (understandable) and output model (not). this should be made clearer
