my fav thing about ~silicon valley culture~ is the complete lack of irony w/which ppl embrace “design thinking” as some kind of magical & non obvious methodology like yes.......i too have taken the needs of my users into consideration......empathy is indeed a thing that exists

Totally. Huge amounts of wasted money on buzzword consultants, workshops etc. The (rare) needfinding experts I know are so highly skilled/experienced that it’s embarrassing to compare the norm to them. All that said, for many execs, just a shift in mindset is a big win.
