my mom brought up the harvard AA suit on the phone today & so i had all my points ready to argue and! my mother! who in senior yr told me AA hurts asians so we have to game the system!....didn’t even let me talk & gave one of the best pro-AA/diversity speeches i’ve ever heard :’)
she is literally going in on wechat and telling ppl how univs have social obligation to create opportunity & how ppl need to realize the advantages their kids grow up w/ & and how it’s crucial that kids from underserved communities get the skills to go back and be leaders
you could say it’s easy for her to say bc yeah both her kids “made it” and we’ve been p much lucky our whole lives but regardless i have never been more here for anything than my mom telling these angry ass wechat parents to stfu and educate themselves
