I respectfully disagree. I mean, roll your own crypto for fun, sure, but please don’t deploy it to production unless you know what you’re doing.
I also think the blunt "Don't roll your own crypto" is unhelpful at best, and gatekeeping at worst. It needs restating as: "You MUST get expert help if you're rolling your own crypto" Otherwise, the world will never have new crypto engineers, because newcomers are banned.
Well now THIS is a take I haven't heard yet.
